POUNDS TESTIMONIAL
By Ellen Archer
12/17/10
I was asked to write a reason that I have been so adamant about using POUNDS for my horses.

10 years ago I purchased a yearling colt that was very well race bred as a barrel prospect. 3 months after I purchased him he colicked flipping 80% of his intestines and bowels over his spleen. $5,000.00 in colic surgery later (more than what I paid for the colt but not much) he was alive. A good friend suggested POUNDS so I started Cash (the colt) on it. I owned that colt till he was 8 and he never ever colicked again! That was huge to me! Once a horse colic’s they are prone to it! I was also amazed at the hoof growth and condition as he had the typical poor hoof quality but I believe if it was not for the POUNDS I would not have been able to hold a shoe on his foot!

I also have a 24 year old gelding that I have owned since he was 3 months old. His mother was a bad colicker and he colicked on me 3 times when he was younger. I have kept him on POUNDS for the past 10 years. A few years ago I leased him to a family. I got him back a couple years ago in very very bad shape. At 22 years of age we all know how hard it is to bring them back. He came back better than ever and has never colicked on me in 10 years! That is hard to beat…he looks like a 10 year old and not 24.

My life in the past few years has had me traveling the whole country. Wherever my travel takes me I take my horses with me. When I haul it is hard hauling…they may end up in the trailer for 48 hours without being let out. Most days its 12 to 18 hours of driving. They are fed local hay, rolled oats and POUNDS. Never have they went off their feed, colicked, tie up or had a weight issue. They come out of the trailer tired yes…but not stressed and eating fine! My horses always get compliments on how sleek their coats are, how nice they look and well mannered.

I have seen more muscle mass in the horses that are put on it…better bulk in the body…most generally it starts of the hips and fills from there. I have seen dramatic changes in the hooves over and over again! It takes time on some to really see, as POUNDS changes the body to make it utilize itself better starting with the inside. Every horse is different as to how long it takes to start seeing results.
POUNDS is all NATURAL….every product I have seen or tried in years past has not accomplished for me what POUNDS has! Natural products work 5 times better than a synthetic or preservative. If we were good to ourselves we wouldn’t be eating and drinking all the stuff that man made puts in our bodies…we have the choice what our horses eat. Our horses are asked to be a top athlete yet we put synthetics and preservatives in their bodies and this does not give them the healthy edge a animal needs to perform at a peak level! I have even gone to feeding a vegan glucosamine (glucosamine that is in the joint supplements is made out of shark cartilage which is for meat eaters not vegetarians) My horses do great…even the 24 year old is running with the young ones and you would never know he is that old. (pictured below before and after)

I could probably write a book to what effects that POUNDS has had on all the horses I have seen it help in the years past! I can just say it’s a awesome product and as long as I’m alive my horses will be fed POUNDS!

Sandy,

'I've used Pounds for my horse, General, for the past five years. I continuously get compliments on the appearance of his coat and how strong and fit he looks, even though he is 19. I had a big scare with him this past fall, when he was found down in his pasture. He was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a tumor that had wrapped around his colon. His prognosis was terrible, and when he ultimately recovered, the vet referred to him as the 'miracle horse,' attributing his recovery to his excellent bodily condition. After that outcome, I don't see a need to ever change his feeding program, particularly his use of Pounds.'

Sandy,

Thought I would give you an update. After two years of Ellen trying to get me to change my vitamin supplement I finally tried POUNDS. Within thirty days my horse shoere asked me "What are you doing with your horses feet" I denied anything. My husband spoke up and said, "Could the healthy feet be because of POUNDS" Yeah! I have a very healthy mare, that jumped at her own shadow and within 45 to 60 days she CALMLY walks in an out of her stall. She is no longer scatter-brained and is a pleasure to be around and ride. My feed bill has been drastically cut since feeding just 4 oz a day for maintenance. I went from one and half bales of hay a day to a bale a day. My horses no longer require the processed feeds that are expensive. I'm just feeding Oats and maybe COB during the winter months. My vet once told me we don't need to feed fancy feeds; we just need to feed normal, natural feeds. I don't know how to get more natural than POUNDS and we are still getting the Selenium and Biotin that our family members so greatly need. Thank you for making what we have all been looking for. Every opportunity I have to talk to a horse person I tell them how to save money and maintain a healthy friend with "POUNDS".

Sandy,

Just thought I'd drop you a note on how well my horses and my daughter's horses are doing on POUNDS. Sugar my ex- racehorse couldn't stand still in her stall. For 3 years I haven't been able to keep weight on her. After about a week on POUNDS, my husband came into the house and told me my horse was sick. She hadn't messed up her stall and didn't eat all her food, of course I ran to the barn and noticed none of the horses had cleaned up their hay and even my appy's stall was easier to clean, I had heard that POUNDS cut your feed bill, I can vouch for that and I have all the horses on only 4oz a day now. I am starting to condition them now so I'll increase that amount. Sugar stayed shiny all winters and just gleams. She has really blossomed and looks great. Amigo had really bad hooves and after 6 months you can really see the difference, the walls are all intact, no chunks missing. Lacy, Rhonda's mare has really calmed down; she ties, stands and hauls better. I recommend POUNDS to all my friends and anyone I talk to.
Thank You I'm forever in your debt for introducing me to POUNDS.

Sandy,

Here is a picture of Woody, formerly "Dagwood from Washington" and now showing as "Snoqualmie Pass." I purchased him through a trainer near SEA-TAC, and she sent him to me with a bag of Pounds. Since then he's kept up his weight even through harsh Kansas winters and extreme summers on pasture, has great feet, and is beloved in every show barn because of his mellow disposition. His coat and tail look great and my only complaint is that I have to pull out his mane more often than any horse I've ever owned.  I wish everyone here would buy Pounds and help keep Gremida in business forever.
